Guarantee conditions

These guarantee conditions regulate additional warranty services on part of Mediaresort.

Mediaresort issues three years guarantee for Walimex and Walimex pro products and two years guarantee for other products as of purchase date. The guarantee includes material and manufacturing errors.

Legal warranty claims or manufacturer guarantees remain untouched by this. If the purchase object is faulty, you can call on us, no matter whether the guarantee case is granted or whether the guarantee is enforced or not.

The guarantee commences with the day of purchase by the end consumer, which is to be proven by presenting the invoice. The guarantee service exclusively includes faults that are caused by material or manufacturing errors. Guarantee service is given through free of charge repair of the sent in product or through supplementary delivery of a faultless device by our choice.

Insofar a product of equal construction is no longer available in the product range of Mediaresort, the guarantee service can be performed by delivering a product with comparable technical characteristics. Claim for guarantee service is exclusively given if the product was treated properly and according to the recommendations in the user´s manual.

What does this mean for you ?

  • Mediaresort pays all shipping costs that are necessary for the repair, or the replacement.
     
  • Mediaresort pays all repair costs, or will send you a new device.

Excluded from the claim to guarantee are:

- Used goods, and second-rate goods

- Damages caused by improper installation, false or incorrect application, non-adherence to the safety regulations, faulty maintenance and violence or outside powers, own modifications to the product, damaged or shortened plugs or cable excluded

-Transport damages and consequential damages and costs. Parts of wear and consumption goods (like for example flash tubes, modelling lamps, other illuminants, fuses, batteries, accumulators, and paper backgrounds)

The guarantee claim expires if actions were taken on the product that were performed not by Mediaresort or service offices authorized by Mediaresort. The repair or the exchange of the product does not lead to an extension of the guarantee period, nor is a new guarantee period commenced by an already granted warranty service for the replaced or repaired device or for possibly installed spare parts. Products or disassembled parts, caused by the supplementary delivery, become property of Mediaresort.

General information about warranty and guarantee

In order to prevent misunderstandings concerning the terms warranty and guarantee, we explain the following:

What is warranty ?

The warranty is prescribed by law, and must be granted by every dealer. It concerns faults of an object that were already given at the time of transfer of risk of the goods. Here the legal statute of limitations for claims for defects in 2 years.

For the consumption goods purchase, the principle of shifting the burden of proof is applicable for end consumers during the first 6 months of the warranty term, meaning it is assumed that the fault was already given at the time of the transfer of risk, and the supplier must provide supplementary service.

After expiration of these 6 months, the end consumer must prove that the error was already given at the time of the transfer of risk. If this is possible, the supplementation obligation of the dealer is also applicable here.

A repair or exchange does not extend the period of warranty, decisive here is still the date of the transfer of risk.

What is a guarantee ?

Is a purely voluntary service of the manufacturer or supplier. Content and extent are solely based on the guarantee promise. There is no legal claim to such service !
